View Game 1 Highlights

The Boston Celtics took a 1-0 lead in the 2024 NBA Finals on Thursday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 112-90 in Boston. The Celtics' depth proved too much for the Mavericks, as Boston had seven players score in double figures, led by Jason Tatum's 29 points.

The Mavericks were led by Luka Dončić's 24 points, but the All-Star struggled with his efficiency, shooting just 8-of-24 from the field. Kyrie Irving added 18 points for Dallas, but he was also inefficient, shooting 7-of-19 from the field.

The Celtics did a great job of limiting the Mavericks' big men, as Christian Wood and Dwight Powell combined for just 14 points on 6-of-15 shooting. Boston also won the rebounding battle 51-33, with Robert Williams leading the way with 11 rebounds.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals will be played on Sunday night in Boston. The Mavericks will need to find a way to improve their efficiency and get more production from their big men if they want to even the series.
